Membership Night: Monday, November 6th
If online transactions are not your thing, membership night is Monday, November 6th, 2017 from 5pm to 8pm. Save the online registration fees and enjoy a fun gathering of Nordic folk at Macpherson Lodge. Cheque and/or cash preferred.
The BC Punch Card Pass
This season, Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club is part of a new CCBC initiative called The BC Punch Card Pass. You may want this optional, transferable pass if you like to travel and will be skiing at other Cross-country ski clubs during the 17/18 season. See this poster for details.
RNSC Executive: A Call for a Treasurer
The RNSC executive is looking for someone willing to serve on the board as our treasurer. Please contact [email protected] if you have experience and expertise in this area.
Job Posting: Club Manager
The RNSC is also looking for a new club manager for the upcoming season. Job details are posted on our website.
Trail Brushing
There will be a trail brushing party on Saturday, October 21st. The work that our volunteer crews perform on our trails each year make our trails easier to groom and easier to ski, especially in the early season. If you’d like to come out and help, please contact Duane Dukart at [email protected] or you can text him at 250-814-4560.
Intro to Community Coaching Workshop: October 13-14
Our ski league program will be holding an Intro to Community Coaching Workshop on October 13th from 6 – 9pm and October 14th from 8:30am – 5pm at the Nordic Lodge. The workshop provides the minimum requirement for skiers to coach within our programs. Please contact Matt Smider ([email protected]) if you are 14 or older and would like to help coach our young skiers.
The Cedar Shaker Cyclocross: October 21-22
The Cedar Shaker Cyclocross event will be held on Sunday, October 22nd at RMR. Apparently, the RNSC had a superb showing last year! There will be a free skills event run from 12 – 3pm on the 21st. For more information, visit: http://www.cedarshaker.com/ , or contact Mike Welch: [email protected]
Level One Officials Course in Revelstoke
In association with Cross Country BC (CCBC), the RNSC is offering a one-day Officials Level 1 course on October 28, 2017 in Revelstoke. This course is an introduction to the roles and responsibilities of officials in all types of races, from Loppets to Provincial Championships. Please let Mike Thomas know this week if you are interested in attending. Contact: [email protected].
Strategic Planning: A note from the Executive
Last year, the board was successful in receiving a grant for some strategic planning for our club. This year, we have started a process to review our club operations to help us design a plan that will strengthen and shape the RNSC in the years ahead. You will hear more about this process in the months ahead, and we look forward to your input.
